They all have a personality.
Every brand has a story to tell. My process starts by understanding who your brand speaks to – then deciding how to tell that story in their language. Every brand has it’s own personality, and creating imagery that accurately reflects that personality is a strong step towards narrowing in on your target market.
I have worked with Denis at No6 Coffee Co. for the past couple years. We envisioned a clean, professional, brand that still had a badass edge – communicating that in imagery has been a never-ending joy and challenge. This has been a well-nurtured and nuanced relationship and I’m happy to be a part of the No6 team.
Ambler Mountain Works
Ambler links families and adventurers to stylish, ethically made headwear and woollen goods. Their brand has an element of play and enthusiasm that I had a great time emulating in imagery.
Vibe is a local clothing store turned online giant. Bringing a progressive style to the little mountain town of Nelson, Vibe brings a playful west-coast core with a high-fashion edge that has resonated much further than the Kootenay regulars who have supported the store for years. I’ve been lucky to help flesh out their brand with both lifestyle and catalog photography.
Brie Neilson started making handmade, hand-painted bags in 2017 and it was a pleasure to work together on her most recent collection. We killed two birds by generating a conceptual, stylized look book that spoke to her target audience, while simultaneously creating product photography for her online store.
August Dossier is a contemporary clothing store that has brought a surf-swept, sun-glittered, dry and sandy vibe to Nelson’s fashion ecosystem. I loved working with the owner/stylist on these images for their new online presence and brand.
